Painting in Provincetown 2019

Even though we had a lot of heavy rain in Provincetown this June, it still was a successful and inspiring two weeks of painting and discussion. Among other events, my friend and painting companion, Scott Chapman who makes the trip from Maryland, watched an Amazon Prime movie on Sorolla. It was in spanish with subtitles, which I enjoyed as a fledging Spanish learner.
This year, besides a lot of art talk, we painted Yellow Irises at Beech Forest in the National Seashore, a vista view from the parking lot of The National Seashore Visitors’ Center, a grassy path across the street from our abode, and a view from High Head that overlooks route 6 to Days Cottages in North Truro.
I went out several times by myself and painted from the parking lot of St Mary’s on the Harbor, Rt 6A looking towards The First House and a painting from the West End Parking Lot.
