News Flash - it all worked - thanks to the inn keepers - they rerented our room and we are not out the $1000 that I was worried about below. Thank you.
Not really rain, but you know what I mean - a disappointment. I was so excited that an artist based in California was to give a week long workshop on the east coast, that I bit the bullit and signed up. It wasn't the cost of the workshop that had me chewing lead, but rather the accommodations. It is high season in August and we are talking thousands. My husband and I agreed to split the cost. $1000 from art money and $1000 from household money. Part of the rationale was that it was a pet friendly place and we could save on dog care. It would be fun to have our sweet Molly with us.
To continue, the workshop was cancelled two weeks before it was to begin. No problem with the fee, it would be fully refunded.
Here's the problem, my $1000 deposit for the room gets refunded if the room is rented.
$1000 is a very big chunk of my art money - it's 2 1/2 months rent, it's a crap load of paint, which as you read in the post before, I try not to waste, and don't get me started on frames!!
I am hoping that someone takes the room!!
