When my mom passed away this winter, she left suitcases of photos. I think she also inherited some from her mother.
When she was five years old, she spent some time on her Uncle Fritz's farm in upstate New York. Photos from that trip are charming. I decided that using those photos for a painting would be at least interesting. I used a composite picture that I created on the computer - I took the best horse pose, Uncle Fritz loading the hay and the best of my mom and her brothers on the hay wagon.
